DONALD TRUMP has sensationally accused Volodymyr Zelensky of being the “sole obstacle” to ending the bloody war in Ukraine.
In a stinging attack, the US President claimed that while Russian strongman Vladimir Putin is “willing to make a deal,” the Ukrainian leader is digging his heels in and refusing to sign on the dotted line.
Speaking to NBC, a fired-up Trump didn’t hold back, suggesting that the comedian-turned-war-leader is the one keeping the tanks rolling.
”Putin’s willing to make a deal,” Trump declared during the exclusive sit-down. “I’ve spoken to him, I know the vibe. He wants this over. But Zelensky?
Zelensky doesn’t want to make a deal.”
The bombshell comments come as the White House ratchets up the pressure on Kyiv to accept a controversial 28-point “peace blueprint.”
The deal—which has sent shockwaves through Europe—reportedly involves Ukraine handing over swathes of territory to Russia and dropping its dream of joining NATO.
Insiders say Trump is “losing his patience” with the Ukrainian President, whom he previously branded a “dictator” during a stormy Oval Office meeting last year.
The row marks a new low in relations between Washington and Kyiv. For four years, Ukraine has fought a David vs. Goliath battle against the Russian invasion, backed by billions in British and American taxpayers’ cash.
But with the frontlines largely frozen and the US election cycle heating up, Trump is desperate for a “win” to bring the boys home and slash spending.
The Trump Plan: Includes a “reassurance force” but demands Ukraine shrink its army.
The Putin Stance: Trump claims Vlad is ready to talk, though critics say the Russian leader is just “playing for time.”
The Zelensky Veto: Kyiv insists it won’t sign any deal that “rewards” Russian aggression or leaves them vulnerable to another invasion.
Zelensky has hit back, telling reporters he is “ready for peace” but won’t accept a “bad deal” that sells out his people. He has even suggested putting any final agreement to a national referendum—a move that would likely see the plan rejected by the defiant Ukrainian public.
But for Trump, the clock is ticking. One senior US official warned: “The President doesn’t make bad deals. He wants this settled, and he wants it settled now.”
As the war enters its fifth year, the world is watching to see who blinks first: the property tycoon in the White House or the war hero in the khaki tee.
