ADO-EKITI — An Ekiti State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of a housewife, Olasunkanmi Olowoyeye, and her alleged lover, Adejoke Adegbite, in connection with the gruesome death of her husband, Mathew Akinsuile.
The suspects are facing charges of conspiracy and murder.
According to the prosecution, the duo hatched a sinister plot to eliminate the deceased using a traditional charm.
Reports allege that the suspects confessed to utilizing “Magun” (a potent Yoruba traditional thunderbolt charm), with the intention of rendering Akinsuile weak and unconscious following sexual intercourse with his wife.
The prosecution further alleged that once the victim lost consciousness from the effects of the charm, the two suspects proceeded to kill him.
The presiding Magistrate ordered that the defendants be remanded in custody pending further legal proceedings, while police investigations into the shocking incident continue.
