Nigeria, Oct 26, 2016 – A top New York Fashion buyer, Bijou Abiola has been slated for the GTBank Fashion weekend, coming up from November from 12th to 13th, 2016.
Abiola, a successful Fashion Buyer who is known for bringing the best of apparel to retail stores in the US will fly into Lagos, Nigeria for the GTBank Fashion Weekend.
Abiola has worked directly with top brands and designers such as Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, Miss Selfridge and BCBG.
Bijou Abiola will discuss the myths and facts behind stocking internationally and how indigenous brands can break into the global scene.
Currently with Lord & Taylor, Bijou Adenike Abiola works as Buyer- Contemporary Ladies Apparel. Between 2012 and August 2014, she was Associate Buyer- Bridge and Designer Apparel with the same organisation.
Before then she was Assistant Buyer- Private Brands and Dresses between April 2009 and April 2010. She was also Allocation Analyst- Merchandise Information Systems from April 2008 to April 2009. Before then she was Merchandise Business Analysts, Private brands from April 2007 to April 2008.
But before joining Lord & Taylor, she was Junior Economic Adviser for the Nigerian Mission to the UN from June 2006 – January 2007 in New York.
