AWKA, Nigeria – Chairman, All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA Abia state chapter, Rev Augustine Ehiemere has stated that this is the time for the party to take over the state from the failed Peoples’ Democratic Party PDP-led  government.

He made the statement when  Prof. Gregory Ibe campaign team  toured the  four wards in Aba North Local Government Area.

According to him, the appointed time for the APGA to govern Abia has come, describing the party’s candidate  Prof. Greg Ibe, as  a consultant per excellence. He said that Prof.  Ibe is more qualified than other gubernatorial candidates in Abia.

Ehiemere noted that apart from Ibe’s investments in Abia, he has intimidating track records. According to him, Prof Gregory Ibe,  is a blessing to Ndi Abia and urged all Abians to vote for him and all APGA candidates.

“This is the appointed time for APGA to take over the affairs of the State, and I want to encourage all of you to remain focused, and not to relent, because the time for God to favour us has come. Prof. Greg Ibe is a man of some importance, and a Consultant to many nations of the world. He has done well for himself, and would like to replicate it in Abia. Personally, I have assessed other gubernatorial candidates in Abia and I have come to a conclusion that Prof. Greg Ibe is the most qualified amongst them.

He has helped Abians and non-Abians in different ways, and if he becomes the governor of Abia state, he will create jobs for our youths, revive the educational sector in Abia and build standard hospitals in all the Local Government Areas. In fact, he is a blessing to Ndi Abia.”he said .

The House of Assembly candidate for Abia  North, Mathew Okorie  advised people against  selling their Permanent Voters’ Cards to some politicians, saying he will soon embark on oppression light up Aba.

The  APGA candidate  for state house of assembly, Aba North enlightened the people on the importance of getting the Permanent Voters’ Cards.

He said  collecting money and giving out  PVCs to some dubious politicians was wrong adding that selling PVCs will  create problems for the true owners of the cards. According to him, he is   proposing a bill for the reviving of Glass Industry in Aba, if elected.

He  also promised to mastermind the installation of solar energy in Aba, which he called Operation light up Aba. He urged the people to vote for him, Prof Gregory Ibe and APGA candidates as they will not disappoint them.

In his words, “Some politicians who had stolen our money are worried and confused. The CBN Governor is on their neck with his tight monetary policies that limits their daily withdrawals. That, of course, is a problem to them. But they have created avenues of withdrawing money from their banks accounts for campaigns, and the buying of Permanent Voters’ Cards is one of the ways.

When they buy your cards, they use them to withdraw money from their banks accounts without notifying the original owners of the cards. This can cause problems in the long run, for those people who have sold their PVCs to politicians.

“We all know that Glass Industry has collapsed, and I intend to propose a bill for the reviving of the industry, if elected. Operation light up Aba has to do with the installation of solar energy in Aba, and I will see to it, if elected.” he stated.

Speaking also the state former commissioner for industries  Hon. Mrs. Uwaoma Olewengwa talked about the three major tribes in Nigeria being represented in the presidential race and she linked it to a new political dispensation that would need experienced politicians in the Senate.

Giving reasons why Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe is the best candidate for the senatorial seat, Hon. Uwaoma said he is fearless and outspoken person. She  criticized Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu’s candidacy, saying that he lacks the capacity and experience to be elected as a senator.

“The person we will send to represent Abia South at the Senate is the man, who had challenged the person that called Ndigbo a dot nation by wearing a T-shirt with dot nation printed on it, just to tell our mockers that Igbo is a great tribe. The person who will represent us at the Senate is the man who had frowned at rigging, and had masterminded the reforming of the electoral bill, which has given the people hope of having credible elections this year. The person is Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe. He is the man we will vote for on February 25.” She stated

She said the plans  of  Abia PDP to rig and win election in the state by all means will fail, because they have not done anything to be re-elected. She encouraged the citizens to be up and doing, assuring that APGA will win the elections, against all odds.

“We must vote for Alex Ikwechegh, Onyeocha N’Aba for Aba North/ South Federal Constituency. On the 11th of March, we will vote for Prof. Gregory Ibe and Mathew Okorie (OgwoSouth). The members of Abia PDP have made secret plans, with an aim of winning the elections. They have three plans to execute. First, they want to buy votes, knowing full that they have enough money to do so, because they have embezzled Abia’s money already.

“As it stands, they can afford to pay millions to the Abia electorate, but we must say no to vote buying. Our conscience cannot be bought over with money.

“Second, they have planned to instigate violence at polling units where they believe they will lose. Third, they have planned to bribe the INEC staff that will come from Abuja with huge amount of money so that he/she can reset the machines, and give them more votes, even before the commencement of the voting process. So, voters are advised to be at alert. They should insist on seeing the machines before voting. Also, they should make sure the machines are at 000.”she stated.

Distinguished APGA members who attended the meetings were: Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, APGA State Chairman; Hon. Mrs. Uwaoma Olewengwa, Abia former commissioner for industries; Hon.
