ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Presidential Aspirant on the platform of the Accord Party, Dr. Uchenna Wining has expressed sadness over last Monday’s terrorist attack at the Nigeria Military Base Kaduna that led to the death of 11 soldiers.
He said the bandits attacking military base in the country was a sacrilege and akin to saying , the country lack capacity . Wining in a press statement by the head, Media Directorate Nze Nweke Nweke said he was saddened by the development which came just a week after the Kaduna Train Attack, that claimed several lives.
He described the action of the terrorists as barbaric and called for urgent Security Conference of all stakeholders in the Nigerian Project, including Traditional rulers and Security Chiefs to address the insecurity across the Nation.
Wining regretted that the bandits raided the military base at a time Nigerians were still mourning dozens of innocent citizens killed in the Kaduna Train attack’.
“It is painful that this kind of tragedy befell our nation at the time campaigns for an election where new breed politicians will be favored to emerge, to repair the damage inflicted on the nation by our past leaders. I dare to say that the security of lives and property of the citizenry are not properly handled by the present leadership of the country.
“This ugly story is not only irritating but shameful and I am of the view that something extraordinary should be done by the present administration to save the nation from such constant attacks. With the criminals having the courage to attack our military base, it means that we are gone. It is on this note that I call for more synergy among our security agencies as it is only in togetherness that they could confront the terrorists.
‘The last Monday’s ugly incident witnessed large numbers of the terrorists, on motorcycles, where they engaged the troops for some hours after they arrived at the military base. If there was synergy among the military and other security agencies in Kaduna State, I don’t think that the terrorists could have succeeded, “Wining stated.
The Presidential aspirant disclosed that he has a master plan on how to tackle the problem and give the terrorists and other criminal elements a run for their money.
According to him, there was no way the nation could win the war against criminals without entrusting serious governance responsibilities into the hands of a youth. He urged the terrorists to drop their arms and seek a way to engage the government constructively’.
