At least 10 people were killed on Tuesday in Jos, Plateau State when two explosions rocked the city, which is a major Christian city in Northern Nigeria. The ten bodies were said to have been burnt beyond recognition while several others were injured.
The radical Islamist sect, Boko Haram is suspected to have carried out the attack though it is yet to own up on the attack.
The explosion took place in the afternoon, shattering windows and sending rubbles in different direction.
“There was a loud bang that shook my whole house. Then smoke was rising .There were bodies in the streets and people rushing injured to hospital in their cars, ” a Jos resident Veronica Samson told Reuters.
The attack is coming just few days after the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) foiled attempt by the sect to bomb Lagos and Kano State.
