Nigeria, May 11, 2016 – Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Monday Igbuya has called on President Muhammad Buhari to buckle up and stop using immediate past President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as excuse for failure.

Igbuya who was speaking after the election of Barrister Kingsley Esiso as Chairman Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) said it is now the routine of Buhari using Goodluck Jonathan as an excuse for everything.

“We need to move forward. By 2019, Nigerians will decide” he said, adding that he values the unity, stability and orderly development of the Urhobo nation. He commended Esiso for his “intelligence, hard work, commitment and consistency since the party’s inception in the state.

“Barrister Esiso is no stranger to party administration. His success is no surprise to those who have observed his journey in politics. His victory is a clear sign of the trust and confidence that the people have in him”. He advised the chairman and other officials to strengthen the party.

“The 2015 election brought new challenges to the party. Your leadership will be crucial in 2019. You must work hard to overcome the challenges of 2015 with determination, courage and optimism”. He also expressed admiration for Delta’s tremendous achievements under the PDP’s leadership in the state.

“The PDP has made outstanding achievements in the boosting of the state’s economic and social development as well as leading the people to overcome difficulties and challenges. The PDP must continue to keep Delta State safe, grow opportunity for every man, woman and child. It must continue to be the party of assistance, aspiration and achievement.

It must continue to defuse social conflicts and give a sense of belonging to the various ethnic groups. It must continue to spread employment opportunities across the state and ensure every youth has access to quality education that could secure them a place in a globalized and highly competitive job market”.
    .
Igbuya while urging members of the party to support the new executives commended party faithful for the successful congress. He praised other aspirants for elevating politics beyond the mundane levels of wrangling, greed and selfishness.

The Speaker also advised them to work with the chairman for the overall interest of the party and the state.
“I am grateful for your efforts in what we have accomplished and what we are going to accomplish in 2019. We are going to have victory in 2019”

He applauded the role of Delta Central leaders in the political development of the state, describing the endorsement of the chairman as a positive development and a huge plus for democracy.
He extended his immense gratitude to the immediate past executives of the party.
