LOKOJA, Kogi, Nigeria – A magistrate Court sitting in Kogi State today ordered the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye be remanded in prison custody pending DPP advice.
He was arraigned on charges of gun running, kidnapping and others. Bail application by his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome was turned down.
Th Prosecutor Alex Isihon had argued that the alleged offence were not bailable. Ruling on the suit, Chief Magistrate Suleiman Abdulahi denied the bail application and asked him to be kept in prison custody till June 11, 2018.
Two suspects had earlier this year implicated the senator as their financier and suppliers of gun in causing political mayhem in the state.
