Residents of Branco Street and Ariyori Street both situated in Mafoloku-Oshodi axis of Lagos have called on government to come to their aid over the incessant extortion of money and inflated bills in the midst of non-existent power supply by officials of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company.

While staging a peaceful protest, Chairman of the Ariyori/Ijaiye Community Development Association, Elder Samuel Oyetunji decried the activities of the officials of the distribution company adding that residents could no longer cope with the excessive bills even as power supply is virtually paralyzed in the area.

Residents who spoke with our corresponden during the protest include Mr. Ben Millers, Mr. Tony Mbata and Mrs. Tope Daramola. They complained unanimously that residents are usually forced to pay for damages or theft to electrical installations among many other unwholesome practices by staff of the IKEDC.
