LAGOS, Nigeria – Former Presidential candidate of Young Progressive Party(YPP), Professor Kingsley Moghalu has commented on proposed Ruga settlement, which the federal government said was one way to settle the incessant clashes between the Fulani Herdsmen and farmers which has led to death of thousands of people.
According to Amnesty, over 3,600 people have died from the clashes between farmers and the herdsmen.
Reacting to the development, Kingsley Moghalu any solution that is forced on other parts of Nigeria, weather directly or by stealth is nothing but a needless provocation to conflict.
He said that the Fulanis and other Nigerians deserve sensible solutions to their problems just as the victims of criminal herdsmen deserve justice but that they have not received it.
“Kingsley Moghalu @MoghaluKingsleyFulanis and other Nigerians deserve SENSIBLE solutions to their problems. The victims of criminal herdsmen deserve JUSTICE. They have not received it. Any “solution” that is forced on other parts of Nigeria, whether directly or by stealth, is a needless provocation to conflict”, he said.
The Federal has explained that Ruga settlement is for every herder and not limited to Fulanis and will have roads and modern facilities.
