Nigeria, October 2, 2016 – Rangers International today defeated El-Kanemi Warriors 4-0 to lift the Nigerian Professional League title at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu State after waiting for 32 years.
Rangers went into the game with a lot of determination with Chisom Egbuchulam opening scores just three minutes into the first half.
Osas Okoro doubled the lead before half time while Egbuchulam made it three in the middle of the second half following an exhibition of beautiful combination with Obinna Nwobodo and Okoro.
Egbuchulam returned to the box to get his hat-trick after substitute, Ifeanyi Egwim was brought down in the box by El-Kanemi goalkeeper Kazeem Yekeen who was sent out of the game to make it 4-0.
Chants of the club’s anthem, ‘Holy! Holy! Holy! Enugu Rangers, another champion rent the air as the new champions sang and danced round the town jubilating over the feat.
