LAGOS, Nigeria – The Presidency today reacted to agitation by Nigerians that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) should probe deployment of bullion vans to the resident of National leader of the All Progressive Congress(APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Bordillon, Ikoyi on the eve of the 2019 general election.

Specifically, Reno Omokri, aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan called on Buhari to arrest Tinubu for violating provision of the money laundering act which prohibits physical movement of cash in excess of N5 million by individuals, especially bullion vans.

The EFCC had said it is neither able to probe the incident nor arrest Bola Ahmed Tinubu since it cannot act without a petition.

But right crusader, Deji Adeyanju said on the social media that he has petitioned the agency to enable them commence the probe on bullion vans at Bourdillon on the eve of 2019 election but up till this moment nothing has been heard until today that Chairman Presidential Advisory Committee Againt Corruption(PACAC) , Professor Itse Sagay decided to speak on the issue

According to Sagay, Tinubu is not a poor man before he became a governor, he told Daily Independent.

“He is not a man who became rich after he joined the government.  He worked in the petroleum sector. I recalled that during the course of his fight with Abacha, he had to escape for his life in order to join so many other people like Anthony Enahoro, Wole Soyinka and many other pro-democracy activists.

“Tinubu was the one funding quite a lot of the organisations and those staying abroad. So, he has always been a man of means. It will be ridiculous that having come back to the country, won’t he invest his money into various ventures? So, no one should be surprised that he is a rich man.

“All I know is that he is rich from his own hard work, investments and therefore, he should be given the benefit of the doubt instead of being subjected to the persecution which some people want him to be subjected to“, the PACC man, a constitutional lawyer spoke probably forgeting provision of the Money Laundering Act which prohibits physical movement of cash by individual.
