NNPC Assures Nigerians of Fuel as Scarcity Bites Harder

March 3, 2015 –  The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has assured Nigerians that there is enough supply of fuel for the next two months.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Group Managing Director of  NNPC,  Dr. Joseph Dawha said his counterparts in  NNPC subsidiary  have assured that over 800, 000 metric tonnes of fuel, equivalent of about 1 billion litres are available for March with enough capacity to meet demands up till April.

Officials of the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency(PPPRA)  also assured Nigerians that there is fuel across depots in Nigeria even as scarcity intensities in Lagos, Ogun, Port Harcourt and Abuja.

Most of the petrol stations visited in Lagos that were dispensing the product had long queues while many did not sell.

But officials of the PPPRA said  there is enough products for Nigerians till April.

“ As at today we had more than enough in stock for Nigerians, there is a  good build up till April, with this build up we are confidence there will be no problem”, an officials of the agency said.
