ILORIN – The Kwara State Police command has announced the rescue of a female citizen of the United States of America, Miss Vonapolouis Moss from a Nigerian fraudster based in Ilorin, Kwara State.
She was rescued from one Awoleye Joshua Oluwatofunmi, (male), who is now cooling himself in police custody. Oluwatofunmi had presented himself to the Moss as an American citizen by the name, Howard Adam.
According to a statement issued by SP Okasanmi Ajayi, Public Relations Officer of the Kwara State Police Command, Oluwatofunmi ripped the lady of the sum of $1000 and took further steps to lure the American to Nigeria.
According to the police, Moss flew into Nigeria, via the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos January 9, and later flew to Ilorin, where she was received by Oluwatofunmi, the suspected Yahoo boy.
He succeeded in taking the American lady to an unspecified hotel at Flower Garden Road, Ilorin, where he collected unspecified amount of money from the lady he met on Tik Tok, a social media platform.
The image maker of the Kwara State police said appropriate authorities have been contacted for appropriate action, while the victim has been moved into a secure custody by the state police command pending her return to the United States of America.
The operation was carried out by the State Criminal Investigative Department, SCID.
