Admin l Saturday, July 29, 2017

LONDON, United Kingdom – Detectives investigating the murder of 26-year-old Bilal Kargbo in Peckham Rye earlier this year have announced a reward of £20,000 for anyone who comes forward with video footage that leads to a conviction.

Bilal, who lived in south London, suffered fatal stab wounds during an altercation with another man on Peckham Rye, SE15 – close to Blenheim Grove – at around 15:15hrs on Friday, 28 April.

Detectives have been told by witnesses that individuals were seen filming at the time, or after the incident, and are now offering a significant financial incentive to anyone who can provide them with video relating to the altercation.

Detective Inspector Jason Grafham, who is leading the investigation for the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “Our enquiries have led us to believe that a large crowd gathered around the altercation Bilal was stabbed during; a crowd of around 60 to 70 people.

“Crucial to our investigation, the enquiry team believe a number of people recorded the attack on their mobile devices. Therefore we are now offering a reward of up to £20,000 for video footage that would assist and ultimately lead to the conviction of the person(s) responsible.
