LAGOS, Nigeria – The police in Lagos have arrested a 40 year old man, Mr. Gbenga for incest and for converting her daughter into his wife for so many years.
The man who lives at Barowa area of Ipaja, Lagos State converted his daughter to his ‘wife’ after the death of his wife.
We gathered that Gbenga has been sexually violating his daughter for three years. According to police, Gbenga started sleeping with his when she was 13 years. The girl is now now 15.
Gbenga, who works with electricity Distribution Company, was reported to the police by a member of his community, who overheard the girl’s maternal uncle, identified as Atanda, screaming about the abomination.

We gathered that the teenage girl had earlier reported the abuse to their landlord who failed to report the matter to the police, but only confronted Gbenga, urging him to desist from his evil acts against his daughter.
The landlord further tried to make him know the consequences of his action.
We gathered that Gbenga who has fallen in love with his teenage daughter could not stop himself and started taking her to work whenever he is on night duty.
The secretary, Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN), Mr. Ebenezer Omejalile, while reacting to the matter, said: “We are indeed dealing with a cancerous situation. So unfortunate we weren’t assertive enough to read in between the lines.”
