Westminster, Sep 30, 2016 – A serving Police Constable, Anirudh Raichura has been formally dismissed from the Metropolitan Police Service following a misconduct hearing.

Raichura attached to Westminster Borough faced allegations that his conduct amounted to a breach of Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of: ‘Authority, Respect and Courtesy’, ‘Honesty and Integrity’, ‘Confidentiality’ and ‘Discreditable Conduct’
He was dismissed at the misconduct hearing held on Wednesday, 28 September on allegation that in July 2014, PC Raichura sent numerous text messages to a vulnerable victim of crime and he did not have a legitimate policing purpose for doing so.

It was also alleged that in July 2014, PC Raichura commenced a relationship with a vulnerable victim of crime and again he did not have a legitimate policing purpose for initiating contact with the victim.

The officer was also alleged to have formed a relationship with the victim and subsequently misled a supervising officer about the relationship. In addition, it was further alleged that in October 2014, PC Raichura offered to take a woman to her home in a police vehicle without any legitimate policing purpose.

In total the officer faced 17 allegations in reference to making contact with three vulnerable women and in some cases without a legitimate policing purpose. And was found proven as gross misconduct for 15 of them.

After hearing all the evidence the panel found the case of gross misconduct to be proven. The officer was subsequently dismissed without notice.
