As Israel kills 248 journalists in Gaza

    Admin I Sunday, Sept 07, 2025

GAZA, Palestine – The Palestinian Journalists Protection Centre, PJPC has called for independent international criminal investigation into killing of Palestinian journalists in the Gaza Strip.

The systematic assassinations of journalists represent a blatant violation of “israel”‘s obligations under international agreements, necessitating international steps to ensure the protection of journalists and accountability for “israeli” officials for the crimes committed against them

Israel has killed 248 Palestinian journalists since October 7, 2023.

The PJPC also called for full and free access to the Gaza Strip by international media.

“After nearly 700 days of the ongoing war of extermination in Gaza, we call for an independent international criminal investigation into the killings of Palestinian journalists and for full and free access for international media to the Strip”, the PJPC said, adding that israel” has kept Gaza closed to most international correspondents, except for limited tours organized under military supervision, while independent access has remained prohibited despite repeated legal petitions.

“The deliberate blackout imposed in Gaza deprives the public of reliable information and fuels misleading propaganda and dehumanizing rhetoric”, the PJPC said.

It added that journalists in Gaza face significant difficulties in transmitting visual materials due to internet outages, weak communications infrastructure, and the repercussions of the “israeli” blockade.

According to PJPC, the systematic assassinations of journalists represent a blatant violation of “israel’s obligations under international agreements, necessitating international steps to ensure the protection of journalists and accountability for “israeli” officials for the crimes committed against them”.
