November 25, 2014 – The government of Philippines has lifted ban on nine journalists practicing in Hong Kong.

The Philippines’ immigration bureau said today that the order was lifted based on the recommendation of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency.

According to order, the ban was imposed because the journalists heckled President Benigno Aquino III of Philippine at the APEC summit last year in Indonesia.

However, Hong Kong Journalists Association has refuted the claim, noting that the affected journalists were just doing their job in asking Aquino about the 2010 killing of eight Hong Kong tourists in Manila.
