The ruling Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP) has described the invitation by the All Progressive Congress(APC) for President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2015 election under the APC as indicative that the party is one of desperate power mongers.
The APC had called on the President to join the party since the PDP is enmeshed in crisis, but a statement signed by Acting Publicity Secretary of PDP, Mr. Tony Okeke noted that the invitation shows that the APC is clueless and in dire need of leadership and ideology.
“By calling President Goodluck Jonathan to join it, the APC has shown that it has no confidence in the leadership abilities of its prominent leaders, such as General Muhammadu Buhari, and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The party has looked inward and has realized the bitter truth that none of those in its fold has the required credentials, charisma and competence to be President hence they have been seeking to poach from the PDP”, the statement said.
