Set up Legislative Liaison and Legal Affairs committees

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other stakeholders to play an impartial role in the governorship election coming up September 19, 2020.
In a communiqué after the meeting, signed by Chairman of the forum and Governor of Sokoto State, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, the forum appealed to the President, INEC and the security agencies to play an impartial role in the coming election.
The forum also appealed to PDP supporters to be vigilant and ensure that all votes cast during the election are counted and well accounted for.
The forum also welcomed, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State into its fold and congratulated governorship candidate of the PDP in Ondo State, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede for emerging as flag bearer of the party.
The forum also formed two committees, the Legislative Liaison Committee and the Legal Affairs Committee. The Legislative Liaison Committee is saddled with the responsibility of guiding the forum on pending bills, the Electoral Act amendment and Constitutional Review matters.

Members of the committee are Sen. Bala Mohammed(Chairman), Dr. Ifeanyi Uba, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Governor Udom Emmanuel and Sen. Duoye Diri.
The Legal Affairs Committee is to identify and coordinate legal matters affecting the forum on local governments, interstate and federal government relations. It is also expected to explore various infractions of the constitution by the Federal Government, including arbitrary and illegal deductions from the Federation Account.
Members of the committee are Governor Nyesom Wike(Chairman), Governor Darius Ishaku, Governor Seyi Makinde, Governor Samuel Ortom and Hon. Bello Mattawale Maradun.
