Your outburst is an affront on democratic order

    Admin l Friday, July 05, 2019

ABUJA, Nigeria – The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has called on Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila to retract his statement against Hon. Kingsley Chinda, PDP member representing Obio/Akpo Federal Constituency, Rivers State.

The PDP had nominated Kingsley Chinda as Minority Leader allegedly against the interest of Gbajabiamila.

But during plenary, the Speaker according to the PDP shoved aside parliamentary procedures to make hate statement inciting comments and direct threats to the lawmaker.

According to the PDP, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila told the Minority Leader that he will regret his action, forcing the PDP to compel the speaker to make a retraction in 24 hours.

“The PDP in the strongest terms condemns this outburst and demands that the speaker retracts his inciting threats against Hon. Kingsley Chinda within the next 24 hours”, the party said.

The party also invites the Department of State Services, the police and other relevant agencies to summon Femi Gbajabiamila to explain the intent of his threats.

The party also called on Nigerians to hold the speaker responsible should any harm befall the person of Hon. Kingsley Chinda.
