GHOUTA, Syria – AT least 300 people have been killed since Monday as Syrian government backed by Russia intensifies bombardment of Eastern Ghouta, killing its own people.
“Scores of people have been killed and hundreds injured in the past month”, Amnesty has said.
“We rallied and made huge noise around the world for Aleppo – and now we must stand up to help the people under attack in Eastern Ghouta.
The people in Eastern Ghouta have been trapped in a cruel siege for nearly six years are now being attacked daily, killed and maimed by their government. Children and elderly people are dying of malnutrition and lack of medication”, Amnesty said.
Reports say most of those injured are left untreated due to lack of hospital in the area and refusal of the Syrian governmnt to allow humanitarian aid to reach the area.
