ABUJA – Nigerians have reacted angrily to the video of police officer, Teju, who was allegedly brutalized by Professor Dike Zainab, the lady whom she has been protecting as an orderly.
The police officer in the video was surrounded by a group of men who came to her aid as she cried for water and assistant to reach the hospital to prevent her imminent death.
Her faced was laced with bruises, with blood dripping down her face as she sat on the bare floor begging for help. The unarmed officer was not only beaten up by Zainab, her maid joined in the brutalization on her order. Click HERE to watch her in pitiable state.
Nigerians who bemoaned the situation are calling for through investigation and prosecution of the culprits to serve as deterrents.
Deju Adesogan who shared image of the incident described the development as inhuman and unacceptable calling on the Inspector General of Police to swing into action and bring the culprit to book.
“Reports of one Prof Dike Zainab of Area 11 in Abuja who allegedly assaulted her Police Orderly & also ordered her maids to beat her up.
“ Thorough investigation & prosecution of the culprits will serve as deterrent to others. Totally inhumane & unacceptable!!!”
He is equally calling on the IGP to withdraw all police personnel attached to politicians and celebrities.
One Big Papiano reacted, hoping that this incident will put an end to the attachment of police orderly to the elite in the society. He is saying that politicians who want security should hire private security personnel, not policemen.
“Nigerians need job, we also need policemen to do their jobs which is to secure the country not to secure the elite or carry bags for elite”, he said.
Look Abi said, “There is need for citizens to respect our law enforcement officers and act civil whenever they encounter this officers , in turn the officers also should act professional. That is the only way we can have better relationship within the citizens and officers”, he said.
He added, “That’s what you get when law enforcement become entities that anyone can hire, same thing with soldiers who move about with fraudsters, hope this helps”, he said.
