IMO, Nigeria – Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has said that about 5 million voters are leaving the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) as a result of anger following the activities of Chairman of the party, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole.

Okorocha who made the revelation after meeting with President Muhammed Buhari in Abuja, also called on the Oshiomhole to learn to obey rule of law and respect court orders and restore integrity of the party. His utterance in continuation of attacks on Oshiomhole whom many of the governors have vowed to remove.

“This issue of court orders as tissue papers must stop”, he said. The Imo State governor however said that the APC will not disintegrate as long as President Muhammadu Buhari remains President of Nigeria.

Okorocha fell out with the national chairman of the party when the National Working Committee(NWC) of the party went ahead to adopt Senator Hope Uzodinma as Governorship candidate of the party in Imo State instead of his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu who was said to have emerged from primaries conducted in the state by his faction.

So far APC has conducted two primaries in Imo State. In the first primaries conducted by Henry Idahagbon in the absence of APC State Chairman Ahmed Gulak, Uche Uwosu scored 455, 655 to win the primaries. But released a result of that election in which he claimed Senator Hope Uzodinma was winner.

According to Gulak, Uche Nwosu scored 10,329, while Sen. Uzodinma garnered a total of 423,895 votes. But based on intervention by the party, the Gulak state EXCO was dissolved and Gen Agbabiaka’s committee was inaugurated to conduct a fresh election.

Okorocha is insisting that his son-inlaw, Uche Nwosu should be the name the party must submit to Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC). INEC deadline for submission of name is today, November 2, 2018.
