OWERRI, Imo, Nigeria – The Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohaneze Ndigbo today elected Professor George Obiozor as President General of the organisation.
He succeeded Mr. John Nwodu whose tenure has expired.
Professor George Obiozor was a former Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Israel and Cyprus.
Born August 15, 1942, attended Institute of African Studies and Albert Schweitzer College. He later proceeded to the University of Puget Sound and Columbia University.
He was for many years Director General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs.
