According to him,the purpose of training and retraining was to educate the few corrupt officers on the danger of compromising their professional duty.

Anere state that any person found wanting in the course of carrying his jobs will be summarily dismissed,as the scheme is no longer interested in tolerating such criminal act.

” We are going to treat any Ocha Bridge staff in uniform collecting money from the public as a tout.

“When a staff collects money from offenders,he compromises himself and we are not going to tolerate that. At any point where an Ocha Bridge staff is caught collecting bribe,we will expel and treat him like a tout” he said .

The Ocha brigade MD disclosed that the scheme has gone into partnership with Anambra State Association of town union ASATU Youths, the ASATU and students in tertiary institutions in the state for purpose of clean and healthy Anambra.

He said the Ocha Brigade cannot be at all places at the same time ,hence seeking the partners of Anambra Youths, students and President General of various communities.

Anere said that if the PG’s can work effectively with their communities Youths, Anambra will certainly be clean and healthy.

According to him, keeping Anambra clean and healthy is not only the duty of Ocha brigade but the duty of the entire Ndi Anambra.

He said that if the citizens do their work of keeping Anambra clean and healthy, the government will do what it is supposed to do for the good of the people.

“We cannot just drink pure water and dump the nylon on the roads. We cannot continue to dump our waste inside gutters. Very soon we shall embark on operation show your waste bin.

“Every household suppose to have one. We cannot continue to dirty our environment and want the government to tolerate it . Some people are politicizing the operations of clean and healthy Anambra, we cannot play politices with lives of our people.

“Time of politices, let us play politices but time of doing the right things , let us do the right things ” he said.

The Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwuma Okoye urged the Ocha Bridge members to serve the state with truth and commitment.

He enjoined them to work according to the law that established the Ocha Bridge in the state to achieve the purpose of the scheme.

Also speaking the ASATU youth president comrade ken Okoli said Ocha Bridge was a creation of the law to keep the state clean and healthy and everybody must support it.

He enjoined those who just graduated to show the Spirit of Ndi Anambra in the discharge of their duties.

“What I am witnessing today is the graduation of young people who have been mobilized to join Ocha Bridge in the enforcement of Anambra State clean and healthy environment mantra. As they have been trained and retrained, let their attitude reflect the spirit of Ndi Anambra.

“They must comport themselves well in the course of carrying out their duty . Let them not tarnish the image of the organisation ” he said.
