    Obaseki, Shuaibu receive CoR from INEC

    As Oba of Benin hails, Buhari,  INEC, security chiefs

    BENIN, Edo, Nigeria – The newly elected governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Mr. Phillip Shuaibu have received their certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

    They were presented with their respective certificates earlier today. The photographs show Godwin Obaseki signing for his certificate before displaying it above his head for all to see and his Deputy, Phillip Shuaibu also signed and displayed his CoR.

    Meanwhile, the Oba of Benin, His Royal  Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II has congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki on his election for a second term in office.

    He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring that the election was not only free and fair but to a large extent violent-free.

    The Oba also thanked Chairman of the National Peace Commission, headed by General Abdulsami Abubakar rtd, and INEC and security chiefs on the ground for the election.

    “The Oba of Benin is grateful to all the security agencies for a job well done”, Frank Irabor, Secretary, Benin Traditional Council said in a statement.
