LAGOS, Nigeria – Two prominent politicians, Ibrahim Obanikoro and Banky Wellington lost out in the house of assembly election in Eti-Osa, losing out to a neophyte, Thadeus Attah, who ran under the platform of Labour Party in Lagos.
Obanikoro, runing on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC, failed in his bid to return to the green chambers, while the R&B musician ran under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP
Thaddeus Attah polled 24, 075 votes to emerged winner of the House of Representative seat. Obanikoro scored 18, 666 votes to come second place.
Obanikoro scored 16, 901 votes to come third in the election held last Saturday.
The turn out of the election in Eti-Osa was massive irrespective of the tactics deployed by the ruling APC delaying arrival of materials.
Most of the electorates in areas visited could not vote by 2:30 until later in the day when INEC officials arrived with materials.
