United States, April 22, 2016 – President Barak Obama of the United States has described the late multitalented American musician, Prince Rogers Nelson as an electrifying performer.
The musician died on Thursday, April 21, 2016. His publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure who confirmed his death did not state the cause. He died at the age of 57. The musicians has been ill for a while but minimized the nature of ailment, only acknowledging that he had a flu.
In a statement, the Carver County sheriff, Jim Olson, said deputies responded to an emergency call at 9:43 a.m.
“When deputies and medical personnel arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male in the elevator. Emergency medical workers attempted to provide lifesaving CPR, but were unable to revive the victim. He was pronounced deceased at 10:07 a.m,” the publicist said.
But in his tribute, the Obama said only few artists have influenced the sound and trajectory of popular music more distinctly, or touched quite so many people with their talent.
“As one of the most gifted and prolific musicians of our time, Prince did it all. Funk. R&B. Rock and roll. He was a virtuoso instrumentalist, a brilliant bandleader, and an electrifying performer.
“A strong spirit transcends rules,” Prince once said — and nobody’s spirit was stronger, bolder, or more creative. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his band, and all who loved him.
Prince, the songwriter, singer, producer, one-man studio band and consummate showman, died on Thursday at his home, Paisley Park, in Chanhassen, Minn.
He is also an actor, producer and director.
His musical career started when he created a demo tape with producer Chris Moon in Moon’s Minneapolis studio in 1976. Unable to secure a recording contract, Moon brought the tape to Owen Husney, a Minneapolis businessman who signed him in at the age of 17, to a management contract and helped Prince create a demo recording at Sound 80 Studios in Minneapolis using producer/engineer David Z.
The demo recording, along with a press kit produced at Husney’s advertising agency, resulted in interest from several record companies including Warner Bros. Records, A&M Records, and Columbia Records, says Wikipedia.
Among his popular songs are Pink and Cashmire, which took him to number 10 on top 40 US billboard. Others are the Black Album and the Golden experience among several others that led the music charts in US, Australia and across the world.
