A TWISTED nursery worker who led a double life for nearly two decades has been jailed for 18 years after police uncovered a “horrific” haul of over ONE MILLION indecent images.
Vincent Chan, 45, was caged today at Wood Green Crown Court after a meticulous investigation exposed his sickening campaign of abuse against innocent children.
The tech-savvy predator used his roles as an IT worker and nursery assistant to film youngsters without their knowledge, leaving a trail of “tainted memories” and “permanent aches” for devastated London families.
The monster’s downfall began in June 2024 when staff at a Camden nursery raised the alarm over suspicious filming.
When cops swooped on Chan’s home in Finchley, they discovered a staggering 69 devices stuffed with depraved content.
Forensic teams spent thousands of hours trawling through the data, eventually finding:
Over 1,000,000 indecent images and videos.
Footage of contact abuse involving young children.
Evidence of voyeurism and “upskirting” dating back to 2007.
A stomach-churning sexual act committed by Chan alone on school premises.
‘A Permanent Ache’
In a heart-wrenching victim impact statement, families described the “cruel violation” that has shattered their community.
”Ordinary memories from early childhood are now tainted with doubt, anxiety, and guilt,” they said. “The lasting trauma of ‘what if’ offers no closure.”
Chan, who previously pleaded guilty to 56 offences including sexual assault and outraging public decency, will be subject to a strict Sexual Harm Prevention Order if he is ever released.
Superintendent Lewis Basford, who led the hunt for the beast, vowed that the police would not let Chan’s name “overshadow” the bravery of the victims.
”Chan’s crimes are horrific,” Det Supt Basford said. “Our foremost responsibility has been to the victims—ensuring Chan was held to account.”
The NSPCC has now launched a dedicated helpline for those affected by the case, as the community begins the long road to recovery.
