ABUJA, Nigeria – The National Judicial Council(NJC) under the Chairmanship of Hon. Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, has recommended to President Muhammadu Buhari the appointment of Hon. Justice Uwani Musa Abba Aji, (JCA)as justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.




It also recommended 7 others to Governors of Abia, Benue, Ogun, Oyo and Kwara States, for appointment as Heads of Courts and Judicial Officers at its 87th meeting of 3rd and 4th October, 2018.

Those recommended as judicial officers in states are Hon. Justice Onuoha Arisa Kalu Ogwe(Abia State High Court), Hon. Justice Aondover Kaka’an(Benue State High Court), Hon. Justice Mosunmola Arinola Dipeolu(Ogun State High Court of Justice) and other three judicial officers, Oludayo Oluwabamise Osunfisan, Olusola Stephen Oloyede and Olatunde Hassan Oyajinmi as judicial officers in Ogun State.

Zakariyah Abdulrasaq was also appointed as Kadi Sharia Court of Appeal, Kwara State, Hon. Mr. Justice Eni Esan as President of Customary Court of Appeal, Oyo State.

In a statement, Director of Information(NJC), Mr. Soji Oye said the newly appointed candidates will be sworn-in after the approval of the President and their respective State Governors as the case may be.
