CAPE TOWN, South Africa – Renaissance Africa Energy, a consortium of five influential energy companies, has announced it is actively seeking partners to fuel its ambitious growth strategy and drive oil and gas development within Nigeria.

The declaration came during the African Energy Week (AEW): Invest in African Energies 2025 conference in Cape Town.

Tony Attah, Managing Director and CEO of Renaissance Africa Energy, emphasized the company’s regional focus and aspirations during a briefing.

“We are born in Nigeria and made for Africa,” Attah stated, adding, “We strive to be Africa’s leading energy company, enabling energy security and industrialization in a sustainable manner.”

The consortium, which comprises ND Western, Aradel Holdings, First Exploration and Petroleum Development Company, Waltersmith Group, and Petrolin Group, recently cemented its position as a major player with the $1.3 billion acquisition of Shell’s offshore subsidiary, the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, in March 2025.

The portfolio boasts 18 blocks (15 onshore and 3 offshore), 46 producing fields, 643 active conduits, 29 flow stations, and five gas plants.

In addition to seeking new investment and partnerships, Renaissance Africa Energy also outlined its clear growth targets as it works toward its vision of becoming a pan-African oil and gas leader.

The company has set aggressive production goals for the coming years, aiming to increase liquid production to 500,000 barrels per day by 2030.

Furthermore, the firm is targeting a substantial increase in domestic gas supply, aiming for 1 billion cubic feet per day.

The company’s overarching vision is to become Africa’s leading energy provider, sustainably enabling energy security and industrialization across the continent. With its recent major acquisition and a clear call for strategic partners, Renaissance Africa Energy is positioning itself as a key driver in the future of the continent’s oil and gas sector.
