LAGOS, Nigeria – Each time, something appears to be going wrong with Nigeria, something great and good happens. That is the story of Nigeria. Each time and point it appears all hope is lost, something unique and extraordinary occurs. God really has plans for Nigeria.
And Why are Nigerian intellectuals being given such plum jobs despite our battered image both at home and abroad? That is the question reverberating in America, Asia, Africa especially in South Africa and Middle East!
Give Nigerians the enabling environment; you will not believe what an average Nigerian can come out with. President Joe Biden’s decision to appoint 4 Nigerians into key prominent positions in his administration, must be causing envy around the world.
The news of our daughter, sister, aunty and mother, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and her World Trade Organization job is heart-lifting and should calm nerves. Her name is NGOZI meaning BLESSING….Sure her appointment should be a blessing to Nigeria. It is and should serve as an avenue for us to rebuild economically.
She is our gift and blessing to the world….just as she is to our beloved country Nigeria. Let’s look inwards and pick from among us the blessed ones with the capacity to bless our nation more… There are loads of her type in the country who are real blessings and precious gifts to Nigeria. Let’s stop nepotism and embrace merit to discover and recover the blessings deposited in us by the Almighty God.
