Nigeria, April 7, 2016 – The Nigerian Football Federation(NFF) has called on philanthropists to throw their weight behind Enyimba of Aba Football Club, the only club representing Nigeria in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) competition.

The NFF made the call in a communiqué issued after a meeting of the NFF Executive Committee in Abuja.

“In view of the fact that Enyimba Football Club of Aba is the only Nigerian club remaining in the hunt for continental glory this year, the Executive Committee resolved to give the team all necessary support to qualify for the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

“Committee also called on philanthropic Nigerians who are inclined to support football to give the team every support possible, and charged football fans in Port Harcourt and environs to be at the Adokiye Amiesieamaka Stadium on Sunday to cheer the team to victory, against Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia’’, it said.

The Executive Committee praised the League Management Company(LMC) for the excellent work it has been doing to improve the Nigeria Professional Football League in totality and project Nigeria football positively.

The Committee agreed that all the six geo-political zones of the Federation should conclude their U-13 and U-15 competitions before the end of April 2016, so that the National Finals of the ZENITH Bank Future Eagles Championship can hold in Lagos in May 2016.

The Committee unanimously expressed unflinching loyalty to, and absolute confidence in, the leadership of Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick, and reiterated that the Board remains one indivisible unit.
