    In 24 hours Coronavirus kills 2648 in Brazil as active cases in Nigeria drops 12, 492

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 135 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases to 161,409. But out of the 161,409 confirmed cases, 146,890 patients have been treated and  discharged, while 2,027  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 12, 492 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-41, Imo-20, Ogun-14, FCT-10, Kebbi-11, Rivers-10, Akwa Ibom-8, Plateau-4, Ebonyi-3, Kaduna-3, Kano-3, Osun-3, Oyo-2, Ekiti-1, Gombe-1 and Nasarawa-1, making a total of 135 new cases of Coronavirus.

    “135 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-41, Imo-20, Ogun-14, FCT-10, Kebbi-11, Rivers-10, Akwa Ibom-8, Plateau-4, Ebonyi-3, Kaduna-3, Kano-3, Osun-3, Oyo-2, Ekiti-1, Gombe-1 and Nasarawa-1; 161,409 confirmed ;146,890 discharged ;2,027 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 121,604,455 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2,686, 366 lives have been lost to the pandemic, while 68,913, 836 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 50, 004, 253 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most affected country, reporting 29, 662, 431 confirmed cases, while 539, 212 patients have been killed by the virus(69, 298 new and 1465 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has  reported 11, 693,  838 all time cases, 284, 775 patients have passed on while 10, 364,860 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Brazil with 1, 044, 203 active cases of Coronavirus(90,302 new and 2648 deaths*) and India which has documented 11, 474, 605  confirmations, 159, 216 patients are no more, while 11, 063, 025 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving India with 252, 364  active cases of Coronavirus(35, 871 new and 174 deaths*).

    Russia remains the 4th country worst hit by the pandemic, now reporting 4, 378, 656  all time infections,  92, 266 deaths and 3, 991,836 recoveries, leaving Russia with 294, 554 active cases of Coronavirus (9713 new and  451 deaths*)followed by the United Kingdom which has registered 4, 294,299 confirmations,  126, 163 patients have passed on while 12,058 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 156, 078 active cases of the pandemic(6303 and 95 deaths*) and France which has registered 4, 241,959 cases, 91, 833 patients have been killed by the virus, while 285, 055 others have survived the pandemic, leaving France with 3, 865, 071 active cases of Coronavirus(73, 520 new and 509 deaths*).

    Italy has continued as the 7th country worst hit, now reporting  3, 306,711 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic, 103, 855 patients are no more, while 2, 655,346 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Italy with 547, 510 active cases(24, 901 new and 423 deaths*), followed by Spain which has reported 3, 212,332  confirmations,  72, 910 patients have kicked the bucket while 150, 376 remains the cumulative number of recoveries, leaving Spain with 2, 989, 046  active cases of Coronavirus(6216 new and 117 deaths*) and Turkey which has confirmed  2, 950, 603 cases, 29, 777 deaths and 2, 770,638 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 150, 188 active cases of Coronavirus(20,049 new and 81 deaths*).

    Germany remains the 10th country most affected with 2, 628,629 total cases, 74, 271 deaths and 2, 397,473 recoveries, leaving Germany with 156, 885 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 873 new  and 228 deaths*)and South Africa (17) with 1, 533,961 all time infections, 51, 724 patients are already dead, while 1, 459,894 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 22, 343 active cases of Coronavirus(1464 new and 90 deaths*).
