JAPAN- The Haitian and Japanese tennis star is now the first Haitian and Japanese woman to don the cover of famous sports magazine, Sports Illustrated, SI.
The Asian star hit the cover few weeks after appearing on the cover of number one black magazine, Vogue. Recall that Naomi Osaka hit the news few weeks back when she announced her withdrawal from the Tokyo 2021 Olympic in the hit of the rampaging Coronavirus pandemic. The Olympics is kicking off in a few days from now.

However she has apologized to the loving tennis journalists whom she said have been very kind to her for the raucous her announcement engendered. She had anchored her withdrawal and those of several stars on the need to focus on tennis in Paris.
“ I never wanted to be a distraction and I accept that my timing was not ideal and my message could have been clearer. More importantly, I would never trivialized mental health or use the term lightly”, she said, adding that the truth is that she had suffered long bouts of depression since the U.S Open in 2018 and I have had a really hard time coping with that”, she explained, adding she had to wear head phones to help dull her social anxiety during the U.S Open.
