LAGOS, Nigeria – MultiChoice Nigeria has made a total of N7.2 billion from the Big Brother Naija (Pepper Dem) which had Mercy Ekeh as winner of the grand prize of N60 million.

According to statistics rolled by the organisers, the BBN 2019 edition recorded 240 million votes since June 30 when the programme kicked off.

But the last week to the grand finale recorded a total of 50 million votes.

While the show was in progress, viewers were allowed to cast their votes via SMS which cost N30 per vote. If you multiply the 240 million votes recorded by 30 brings the grand total to N7,20, 000 000.

This money is besides revenue from adverts, online and television adverts. While the show was on, an advert costs as much as N1,000, 000 for a 45 second commercial, sources have said.
