LAGOS, Nigeria – The Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress(APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is no doubt a very generous man – very generous to a fault- many of his followers will readily acknowledge.
He is also very cerebral if you had the privilege of meeting him at his prime as governor of Lagos State. But his most publicized charade at the Chatham House in London seems to have done more harm than good to his reputation if the truth must be told and this appears to be the message, the popular social media personality and skit maker, Adebowale Adedayo alias Mr. Macoroni is explaining to Nigerians in his short video film titled “The Job Interview” on Tinubu’s Chatham House outing with his entourage comprising former and serving governors, and Speaker House of Representatives.
In the short film, the skit maker who did not make any allusion to the visit, though very much implicit in the message acted Daniel (ABAT) along with the three Hebrews, Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego in the film, where he sat for an interview after presenting a very impressive resume.
He told the employer who affirmed he has read through his resume that there was no need for the interview since he has read about him but that since he insisted on hearing from him, he called on Shadrack before the interviewer to provide needed answers.
On insecurity, Daniel said whatever the interviewer hears from anybody around him should be deemed to have emanated from his brain and that the team in their wisdom are tapping from his vast brain “and that is humility for me”, he told the interviewer who is bemused by this foolery. On insecurity, Daniel ordered Meshack, “give him solution on insecurity” as he smiles about his readiness for the vacant job.
On taking up responsibility in the event of failure, he summoned Abednego, who appeared and assured the interviewer that if things go wrong he will take responsibility, “There you have the answers .. three of us in the Lions’ den, we are ready”, Daniel who is so full of himself said with loud ovation from his team.
Though very short, Macoroni in The Job Interview explains that no employer no matter how daft will employ a job seeker, who prefers to answer very serious questions that bother on the job at hand by prosy.
Even those who are employed in The Nation Newspapers, TVC and Max FM, all owned by Tinubu went through series of interviews to get hired, they were never hired by proxy, not even the most intelligent once among them.
This is the bitter message the handlers of the ABAT Presidential campaign must take home from this short video. Even in corporate organisations, team work becomes operational after you have successfully defended your resume and hired after several tests and interviews.
You only need an affirmation that you are a team player during the interview and such affirmation could work against the employee if he is seen to be deficient in skills needed in the department he is needed.
