Martin Gugino: Buffalo Police Patrol team resign en masse
BUFFALO, New York – For disciplining their colleagues over treatment meted out to protester, Martin Gugino, the entire squad of the Emergency Patrol team of the Buffalo Police Department have resigned.
The patrol team 57 in number, according to New York Post resigned in protest over the suspension of two of their colleagues for forcefully pushing 75 year old Martin Gugino to the floor on the street in Buffalo.
Martin Gugino, a protester was pushed down in the wake of protests that rocked cities in the United States for the murder of George Floyd.
The Buffalo department had suspended two officers who pushed and shoved Martin Gugino to the floor and proudly walked away from him when he fell flat to the floor, motionless.
Martin Gugino has been hospitalised after the incidents. Speaking at a press conference today, Governor of New York City, Governor Andrew Cuomo said he spoke to the victim, whose condition he said is serious but stable.

“What happened in Buffalo offends our sense of decency & humanity. It’s frightening.
“Let’s focus on the facts. What we saw on that video is abuse and we must put a stop to this kind of abuse.
“Enough is enough. In this moment change is possible. New York will be at the fore-front”, he said.
