SOUTH AFRICA – Member of South African parliament and founder of the Economic Freedom Fighters, Mr. Julius Malema has said that Russia remains a friend of South Africa hence its neutrality and that he will arm President Vladimir Putin in his fight against imperialists if he becomes President of South Africa.
Malema who was speaking on BBC said South Africa is against imperialism and that Russia’s war in Ukraine is a war against the west whom he said are executing imperialist agenda.
He said that it is wrong for the International Criminal Court, ICC to pronounce President Vladimir Putin an international criminal and order his arrest, stressing that the ICC did nothing when former British Prime Minister said Allied Forces were wrong when it overthrew and killed Saddam Hussein, whom they alleged had chemical weapons only to discover that there was none, after killing thousands of Iraqis.
Deaths resulting from the 1988 Al-Anfal campaign have been put in the region of 50,000-100,000 people.
Julius Malema said the ICC did not issue any arrest warrant on then British PM, who acknowledge publicly that the west was wrong and wonders why it will issue such a warrant on Putin, whom he said is fighting against western imperialism. He said it is for this reason, that countries like China, India and the rest have decided to remain neutral in the Ukraine war.
He said his position and stand of South Africa on Putin has nothing to do with the fall of the Rand against the US Dollar but attributed it to what he described as the reckless utterance of the American ambassador to South Africa.
Malema said he admires China by the way it fights corruption, its model of infrastructural development and creation of employment adding that the model, which he hopes to deploy will engender a very powerful Rand South Africans will be proud of.
He said he will nationalize the mines, and power to make them more productive and efficient.
He said those who said they will leave the country if he becomes President are only afraid that he is an independent man that cannot be influenced by the whites, adding that same people said the same thing about the Late Nelson Mandela, that they will leave the country if a prisoner becomes president.
He said his South African dream will come to pass through the ballot and not through revolution and that he has built the EFF from nothing to become a third force, which he said has become a beautiful bride by the ANC and other political parties in South Africa.
