AWKA, Anambra – The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has felicitated with Christian and Muslim faithful as they commence the sacred seasons of Lent and Ramadan, describing the periods as profound opportunities for spiritual renewal and moral rebirth.

In a statement personally issued on Wednesday, Mrs. Soludo noted that the holy months present unique moral and spiritual opportunities for adherents of both faiths, urging them to renew their commitment to love, peace, and selflessness.

She described the sacred periods as important spiritual obligations during which acts of faith are measured by compassion, charity, sacrifice, and service to humanity.

According to her, the Holy Season of Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday in the Christian liturgical calendar, is a solemn period of prayer, supplication, and atonement.

“Ash Wednesday reminds us of the brevity of life, the fleeting nature of worldly pursuits, and God’s enduring promise of eternal life,” “In these 40 days of Lent, we are called to reflect deeply, embody the true image of Christ, and lay aside the swords of enmity and bitterness for the greater good of mankind.she stated.

“May these holy days become a defining moment for families and communities to unite, grow in love, and strengthen the bonds of harmony and peace,” she added.

Addressing the Muslim faithful, the First Lady said the holy month of Ramadan offers a fresh opportunity for spiritual reflection, self-discipline, sacrifice, and renewed devotion to God.

“This sacred month is a significant spiritual obligation during which faith is expressed through selflessness, peace, charity, and community service,”

“To the Muslim Ummah in Anambra State and beyond observing this important religious rite, may the blessings of Ramadan abound in your homes and across our communities. Ramadan Kareem.”she said.

Mrs. Soludo, founder of the Nonye Soludo Healthy Living Initiative, reiterated her call for unity, mutual respect, and sustained commitment to moral values during and beyond the sacred seasons.
