LONDON — BRITAIN has sensationally blocked Donald Trump from using UK airbases to launch devastating strikes against Iran, The Sun can reveal.

In a move that has sent shockwaves through the “Special Relationship,” Prime Minister Keir Starmer has reportedly refused to give the green light for U.S. bombers to take off from British soil for a pre-emptive mission against Tehran.

The decision affects two of the most vital military hubs in the world: RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire—the European home of the U.S. B-52 and B-2 stealth bomber fleets—and the secretive Indian Ocean outpost of Diego Garcia.

According to bombshell reports in The Times, government lawyers have warned that any pre-emptive strike could be a “slam dunk” breach of international law.

Ministers are terrified that by allowing the U.S. to use our runways, the UK would be “criminally liable” for the fallout.

    One senior source warned:
”We cannot simply hand over the keys to the hangars without a clear legal mandate. If it’s not self-defence, it’s not happening.”

The snub has left the U.S. President fuming. Taking to his Truth Social platform, a fiery Trump warned that the UK was making a “big mistake” and hinted he might pull the plug on support for the controversial Chagos Islands deal.

”It may be necessary for the United States to use Diego Garcia and the Airfield located in Fairford in order to eradicate a potential attack by a highly unstable and dangerous Regime,” Trump wrote, adding that Britain must remain “strong in the face of wokeism.”

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have reached a boiling point over Iran’s nuclear programme. While the U.S. is ready to “go heavy,” London is playing it safe.

Under long-standing agreements, the U.S. must ask for “sovereign consent” before launching combat missions from British bases.

During the 2003 Iraq war, this wasn’t an issue—but today, with no UN resolution in sight, the UK is pulling the emergency brake.

The standoff now threatens to derail the UK’s plan to hand over sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, a deal Trump has suddenly turned against, claiming it puts Western security at risk.
