Kogi, Nigeria, August 8, 2016 – Supporters and Son of the Late Prince Abubakar Audu, Mohammed have dumped the Deputy Governorship Candidate and Audu’s running mate in the last November Kogi State Governorship election, Mr. James Abiodun Falake.

The late Audu supporters were said to have finally aligned themselves with the party decision to replace the Late Audu with Governor Yaya Bello after the appellate court upheld the judgments of the Kogi elections tribunal in favor of Governor Bello.

Kogi East APC Youth Front(KEAYF) President, Dr Abimaje Ocheni confirmed the division among ‘ intra party opposition elements’ especially the ongoing feud between Audu and Faleke, saying supporters of the late Audu are tired of the political impasse in the state. Ocheni said crisis broke out within the Audu/Faleke Campaign Organization after a leadership disagreement between the late Audu Son, Mohammed and Falake.

He noted that the conflict of interest rocking Audu/Faleke camp took a new dimension after the Appeal Court judgments last week Thursday, saying Audu faction of the party will be reconciling with the incumbent Governor in interest of the state.

“The fact is that Mohammed Audu is no longer in interested in the case, he has since return to his business and preventing his late father political structure from being hijacked by Falake, as a matter of fact was conspicuously absent at the court last Thursday due to his non interest in the case, ” Ocheni said.

Also Coordinator of Pro Audu Group, Adoja Support group,Comrade Ibrahim Atai usman said Mohammed would have favour the cancellation of Governor Bello’s mandate to pave ways for fresh election so that he too can run using his father structures across the state rather than deputise for Hon James Faleke.

Usman said Falake was irked with Mohammed interest for the governorship seat, feeling betrayed by the Junior Audu volte-face. He noted that majority of the late Audu supporters are now calling for reconciliation with the State governor, Yahaya Bello, saying it would be very difficult to defeat him at the Supreme court since he survived both the Tribunal and Appeal Court Cases.
He said Audu political associates and followers want to move on with life politically but Falake and his supporters are frustrating all efforts to align with the party leadership.

Usman said top among supporters of Late Audu who had joined Governor Bello’s camp includes Hon Saidu Akawu Salihu (SAS) who was Deputy Director General Audu/Faleke campaign organization, Rt Hon Clarance Olafemi (BoT member), Sani Ogu, Hajia Halima Alfa, Alh Isiaq Ajibola, the Late Audu spokesperson Abdulmalik Suleiman
