LASU Resumes Academic Activities Monday, May 18

May 12, 2015 – Academic activities will resume at the Lagos State University (LASU) at Ojo on Monday, May 18, 2015. This is based on a communique issued on Tuesday by leadership of LASU Student Union Government, management of LASU and representatives of  Governing Council of the University at the end of the meeting.

The communique was signed by  Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor John Obafunwa,  Registrar, Mr. Akinwunmi Oladapo Lewis for management and President  LASU SUG, Mr. Suleiman Wasiu, General Secretary, LASU SUG, Mr. Akanmu Oladapo, Public Relations Officer, LASU SUG, Mr. Adebanjo Fatai for the students while Ag. Chairman Governing Council, Mr. Jide Adesoye and Director Higher Education, Mr. G. A. Suleiman-Ajayi signed for the council.

In the communities, the university management agreed to open the university for academic activities not later than Monday, May 18, 2015.

The management also agreed to provide adequate security on campus on resumption of academic activities, continual dialogue between the staff union, management and  the governing council.

Agreement was also reached on expedition of processing of school fees refund by the Lagos State Government and proclamation of confidence in the leadership of Professor John Obafunwa as Vice Chancellor of the university.

At the meeting, the students and governing council opted to dissociate themselves from Obafunwa must go campaign.
