IKEJA, Lagos – Officials of the Lagos State Parking Authority, LASPA are on rampage, invading private parks in their quest to meet targets and shore up revenue for the Lagos State Government.
In one of their raids, officials of the agency loaded in their motorcade under escort of the Lagos State Government Monitoring Team, the official outfit monitoring enforcement activities in the state roved around Lagos and not able to contravene transporters under the control of MC Oluomo who park in the middle of the road to pick and drop passengers all over the place made a detour into a weak target and decided to invade a private park to contravene a vehicle.
In the broad daylight, the officials numbering over ten men stormed Health Plus on Allen Avenue and contravened Toyota Rave 4 parked in front of the pharmacy about 10 metres away from the popular Allen-Opebi Road.
The owner of the vehicle raised the alarm, wondering about the offence she committed by parking in a private park, very far away from the road without causing any obstruction.
The alarm was so pervasive that the LASPA officials who have video recorded what they felt was legal contravention made a detour and unclamped the vehicle and zoomed off in shame amid boos and jeers.

Very sad that governance in this part of the world means exploitation of the citizens. It is here government construct road that collapse within few months and become unworthy only for the citizens to be punished when vehicles have no roadworthiness certificates.
The annoying thing is this LASPA will tell you they didn’t see Yellow buses picking passengers in the middle of the road, obstructing free flow of traffic. They did it for me along Capitol road in Agege, I told them two persons must be prepared to join the ancestors, please don’t be a gentle man in Lagos anymore,
It is very unfotunate that one is a native of this part of the world. In my case Government constructed a road passing through the frontage of an existing property, part of the property was annexed to the new road constructed. To the shock of all the existing buildings around the new road was not given access. When the workers were confronted while they were working they claimed the Chinese contractors they were working with did not give them such directive to grant house owners around the area right of passage to their properties. Amusingly government infrastructures on thesame axis local govt secretariat, police station, LAWMAN office all were given access. The road has not been commissioned. Infact they are still working there only for the LASPA officials to be coming around with camera to enforce illega parking on people the road the government constructed blocked out of their premises. Not only that, they will capture a video and splut same on different days in my own cash even put same video on different days with different locations. On their video they said you can challenge but when you click on that for you to submit after they had made you to agree that you received their penalty claim; the icon to submit is disabled. Fraud everywhere
The GOVERNMENT is trying to ignite a fire that will be difficult for them to quench in future. I really doubt if we are in any democracy
We told you people stop voting and surporting criminals you can see it now
Nigeria is not a democratic country the sooner you know the better. What we have in Nigeria is apauling and disheartening. When I see some of this injustices, I get seriously angry and want to always intervene. I know of a surety all this nonsense will stop.

In every institution, there are black sheep whose stock in trade is to mess up laudable initiatives of government for personal gains. Otherwise how do we explain the confiscation of a car parked at an alloted private garage by an helpless woman!
The official whose suppose to bury his head in shame even have the effontry to be video recording the scene as if he is taking appropriate evidence of wrongdoing by the woman. What a big shame!!!
The policemen that accompanied were busy looking the other way rather than protecting the populace. It was a bigger shameful experience.
One thing that is very concerning is the fact that LASPA may not take appropriate steps to discipline this erring staff. In a sane clime, government officials would not only apologised for this blatant violation of the woman’s freedom but would go extra steps of making a deterrent of the staff for abusing his position and for causing untold embarrassment to both the woman and the Lagos State Government.
We call on Governor Sanwoolu to request for qn investigation into this shame behaviour so as to serve as deterrent to would-be perpetrators of this heinous crime.
Why can’t LASPA, just barricade the entrance to that premises instead. Why disturbing the already economically frustrated citizens. Govt shld avoid inflicting more hardship on citizenry, think of better ways of tackling issues and same to other agencies. Life expectancy as dropped. Better Lagos arising.
It’s quite an unfortunate incidence, LASPA in his response to the issue, claimed the pharmacy is yet to pay the fee for the space. The question is, how does that concern a customer who came for his/her personal business? The problem with governments, especially Lagos state is that, there is no proper check and balance on almost all it’s parastatals. Yellow buses are scattered here and there on Lagos roads, parking discreminately without any arrest because they are controlled by a government agent, it’s really unfortunate we practice autocracy in Lagos state.
I think the major issue is we all went to sleep when many of this draconial law are being discussed and passed We are in a country where we have people who just see governance as allocation and distribution of resources. They lack any clue of how to generate fund except through exploiting and extorting it citizens all in the name of Taxes and levies despite the abundance of natural resources.
Have you not noticed that government only enforce laws that will suck it citizens but those that requires the government to perform it’s responsibility on the citizens are not quick to enforce. Water, House , light food house how many times have u heard or seen the NASS and SHA talk about enforcing government to provide this basics.
Thank God the law started enforcing itself from Lagosians Yoruba indigene. The evils you all covered today would soon locate you someday
I honestly will say this democracy is completely an avenue to defraud the citizens under the guise of government. It is very regretted that one can not reborn and claimed Western World citizens.
When government failed her responsibility..citizens suffered . God help us oh
U are been sentimental in ur judgement. That is bad of u.The action of LASPA is uncalled for.
Let’s join voice together and revolt against that.
Don’t bring politics, sentiments and hatred into this.

When we told you people vote and surport a party that will rule with God of God and by the constitution of the country you people refuse and made it a tribelistic thing this is just the beginning they are even now taking pictures of vehicles in private residence that the owner have not driven for one reason or the other and send you messages and threatened you to come and pay for insurance which they have increased 300 percent and vehicle lenience 500 percent they are intimating and beating people tax payers
