IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria– Litigants and witnesses were shocked on Thursday afternoon following a bizare development when a witness testifying in a land matter sudendly started vomiting thick blood and died just outside the court room
He died just after giving his evidence before Justice O. A. Olayinka. The deceased whose names could not be ascertained died just outside the court and was rushed out in the court’s ambulance to the Lagos mortuary.
According to eyewitness, the deceased who is the claimant was sweathing profusely and coughing while giving his evidence and has to rush out and started coughing thick blood before he collapsed and died.
We gathered that he was so wet with blood that people around were scared to hold him and offer first aid.
When contacted for the case file, the court clerk declined to comment on the case adding that commenting will be to his detriment. He directed reporters to Chief registrar of the court.
We gathered that the judge rose after the deceased lawyer informed the court that his client has just died outside the court.
