November 22, 2014 – Lagos State Government has concluded arrangements to pay another set of 319 retirees about N1.8 billion as retirement benefit.

Director-General, Lagos State Pension Commission, Mr. Rotimi Hussain, who made the disclosure said the amount represents the past service benefits due to the retirees before commencement of the Contributory Pension Scheme in April, 2007.

He said the beneficiaries would be presented with certificates during the 14th Retirement Bond Certificate presentation ceremony scheduled to hold on Tuesday 25th of November.

Hussain stated that the event was specially designed by the State Government to celebrate and express appreciation to retirees for showing great commitment and dedication to service.

He explained that the presentation is regularly done in fulfillment of the current administration’s uncompromising commitment to ensuring that every worker who retires from the State Public Service gets his retirement benefit with ease.

It would be recalled that the State Government has, at the 13th Retirement Bond Certificate presentation held in September this year, paid over N27 billion to 5,211 retirees.
