    Killer policeman, Drambi Vandi remanded for killing Omobolanle Raheem

    YABA, Lagos, Nigeria – Drunk killer policeman, ASP Drambi Vandi was  today remanded in prison custody for murder of Lagos lawyer and property consultant, Omobolanle Raheem.

    The drunk, trigger happy police officer killed Omobolanle Raheem in company of her husband while she was making a turn under Ajah bridge on Christmas day on her way from Christmas Service.

    ASP Drambi Vandi, who had allegedly killed other two other civilians in the past  was arraigned before Her Honour Chief Magistrate C.A. Adedayo of Yaba Magistrate Court for murder.

    Attorney-General of Lagos State and Minister of Justice, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN who appeared for the state  filed the case pursuant to Section 264 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2015 (As amended).

    He arraigned ASP Drambi Vandi on one count of murder contrary to Section 223 of the Criminal Law Ch. C17 Vol. 3 Laws of Lagos State, 2015. He also supported his claim with an affidavit deposed to by O.R. Saliu (Ms) an Assistant Director in the Ministry of Justice.

    The Chief Magistrate ordered the remand of the suspect for the first 30 days in line with the provision of the law pending further investigation by the police.

    The court directed the police to forward the duplicate case file to the office of the DPP and adjourned the case to 30th of January, 2023 for the review of remand Order and report on the Legal Advice by the DPP.

    The Hon. Attorney-General appeared with Ms. Titilayo Shitta-Bey, the Solicitor General of Lagos State, Dr. Babajide Martins, the Director of Public Prosecutions, Adebayo Haroun, Deputy Director, Y.O. Cardoso, O/C Legal Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command, and O.R. Saliu, Assistant Director while Moses Jah-Nissi appeared for ASP Drambi Vandi.
