A Federal High Court, Abuja on Friday morning sentenced Kabiru Sokoto, mastermind of the 2011 Christmas day bombing of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State to life imprisonment.

He is also alleged to have trained over 500 men on how to assemble and detonate improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

He was also accused of facilitating terrorism by planting bombs at police headquarters and other establishments in 2007 and 2012, at Mabira, Sokoto State.

In sentencing Sokoto to life imprisonment, Justice Adeniyi Ademola relied on the confessional statement made by the Boko Haram Kingpin.
